I have been making music for lifetimes, but walked away from the business of music several years ago. Songs kept threading through my heart and head however, bubbling up at every opportunity as I plied my new chosen trade as a farmer- the rhythm of the hoe, the counting of the fresh, vibrant fruits of labor, the steady footfalls of my horse as I rode in the vast openness of my new western home...

Eventually I accepted that the songs would not stop coming. After being invited to tour as a solo performer with my longtime friend,  Johnette Napolitano, I stepped off the farm, rediscovering my passion for making and performing music. I became comfortable as a solo performer as I traversed the US over two years, playing before Napolitano, Jeffrey Foucalult, Kris Delmhorst, Chris Smither, and Mike Peters . Along the way I met Ronald Judkins, an accomplished filmmaker (and Academy Award winning sound mixer and recordist), who recently worked with me on two new videos- one documenting a crowd favorite from the Visitation Rites tour (Tractor), and the other capturing a new piece being shaped for an upcoming (as of yet untitled) recording (Smiley Face).

I am about to begin raising funds for a new record, due to be recorded in March 2017. Realizing that I will not get help from the commercial music industry, yet believing that those of us in a later part of our personal timelines are vibrant, vivacious makers of art in many forms, and that there are vibrant, vivacious supporters of our art who are also ignored by the industry- I aim to build a team with you on it to prove that we all increase in value as we grow.
